Will Postlethwait

Fretted Repairs
Picture
Will Postlethwait has been working on fretted instruments informally for well over a decade, and has apprenticed with Lee Raymond.  (She trained at the Summit School of Guitar Building and Repair in the 1990s). He has also attended workshops with Bob Smakula at the Augusta Heritage Center. In addition to handling repairs, Will is also our "go to guy" for advice on guitar purchases, since he is the chief person responsible for selecting the guitars that High Strung sells. A bass player, with a degree in music from UNC-G, Will continues to perform in the Triangle area (or did, pre-COVID) and occasionally to teach.

Will Postlethwait is our fretted instrument guru. As a guitarist and bass player, he brings an understanding of the mechanics, as well as his intuition as a musician, to diagnose and fix almost anything with frets.
