HIGH STRUNG STAFF
LEE RAYMOND, Owner
In 2006, with five years of music retail experience, Lee Raymond became a full partner in High Strung. She became full owner in 2014. She received her certification in guitar repair from the Summit School in British Columbia in 1999. Her training in violin repair was through the UNH Violin Craftsmanship Institute, as well as one-on-one training with luthiers in North Carolina and Ohio. She still keeps her hand in with repairs, donating her labor to keep instruments for KidzNotes functioning.
Lee works at a state and local level, through the NAMM Foundation, advocating for music in the public schools, and she lobbies in DC regularly and meets with the education staff in the NC Governor's office, as well as NC senators and representatives, to discuss policy and funding of arts and music education.
Lee plays fiddle, harp and mountain dulcimer. She started High Strung's Irish learning jam in 2013, and has taught dulcimer classes throughout the Triangle.
