High Strung Teen Music & Service Board
Teen Music &
Service Board

The High Strung Teen Music Board is made of
Durham/Chapel Hill-area teenagers who are
interested in taking music out into the community.
The main project of the Teen Board is to take our
Instrument Petting Zoo to various concerts and
festivals throughout the year, especially for the
Durham Symphony. The other function of the
Board is sharing musical interests, experience with
each other and visiting professional musicians and
High Strung staff.

Board members must come to 75% of the monthly
Saturday meetings and at least three
petting-zoo/outreach events per year.

Board Members get a 15% discount on all
accessories, and after a year are eligible for
a 15% discount on instruments if they have
fulfilled the attendance requirements.

Christine and Lee are the official advisors for the
board. Membership on the board is open to
triangle-area teenagers who play a stringed
instrument. Students must submit an application.
Selection will be made by the staff of High Strung,
and board members will serve a one year term.

Applications for the 2011 Teen
Board are being accepted now.
